Golden Sayings & Speeches of Sahib ul Amar Hazrat Hujat ul Qaim Al-Muntazir Imam Muhammad Mahdi a.s
Asalamoalaka ya Hazrat Hujat ul Qaim Imam Muhammed Mahdi a.s.
  1. Imam Mahdi (a.s.) rues the fact that he was not present in Karbala, thus: "O my master, I was born after 'the incident of Karbala, and by the decree of Allah was deprived of the honor of assisting you. I could not participate along with the others in the battle, and could not repel your enemies. That is why I shall always feel agitated and disturbed at your tribulations and sufferings, and out of my distress and anguish, I shall lament ceaselessly for you, morning and evening, and in place of tears, I shall shed blood for you. "Rest assured that no one has a special relationship with Allah. Whoever denies me is not my follower.
  2. Khak-e-Shifa (soil of Karbala) in the grave ,Yes it can be kept in the grave. And by the command of Allah, the threads of the shroud get mixed with the soil.
  3. There is no adornment for a Tasbeeh more excellent than Khak-e-Shifa. Among the virtues of a tasbeeh made of Khak-e-Shifa is that often a person is lost in his thoughts and just turns the beads of the tasbeeh in his hands, yet he will get the complete reward of reciting that tasbeeh.
  4. Indeed the devine destinies will never be over whelmed & overcome & the devine will does never get rejected & nothing can supercede the devine grace. (AL BIHAR, VOL 53 , P-191)
  5. Allah has not created the creations as futile & in vain & has not let them go aimless & purposeless. (BIHAR UL ANWAR ,VOL 53 , P-194).
  6. Allah raised Mohammad s.a.w as beneficence for the worlds & completed His favors with him & ended the (series of ) Apostles b him. And sent him toward all the people (for their guidance). (BIHAR UL ANWAR ,VOL 53 , P-194).
  7. He s.a.w says "ALF LAM MEEM Do men think that  they will be left alone on saying we believe & not tried ?" So he says : " , How people have undergone test & trial & how do they wonder around in astonishment & bewilderment sometime to the left & some times to the right. The have been detached from their religion or involved in doubts (ambiguity) or have become the enemy of the right . Or they are ignorant of the true tradition & correct prophecies & information's . Or they intentionally forget what they know . Do know it that the earth never gets empty & void of authority (argument) of Allah (the Prophet or Imam) whether he is evident & apparent or hidden & concealed. (from the eyes) (KAMAL UDDIN VOL 2 , P-511).
  8. Reason for Praying for Imam-e-Asr (a.t.f.s):As we are aware, Allah has promised to avenge the oppression perpetrated on His Prophets and their Successors (a.s.). Particularly, the transgressions and cruelty inflicted on Imam Husain (a.s), the doyen of martyrs. He has also pledged that finally Islam will be the universal religion and polytheism will be wiped out from the face of the earth. Justice demands that once a promise is made it must be fulfilled and this covenant assumes even more serious proportions considering that it is made by none other than Allah, the Almighty. So for an early and swift fulfillment of this divine promise, it is necessary that we pray for Imam-e-Zamana's (a.t.f.s) well-being and earliest reappearance. Imam (a.t.f.s.) has himself urged the Shias 'Pray for the early reappearance because in it lies your deliverance.' (Beharul Anwaar vol. 52, p. 29)
  9. "Every one of you is to prepare himself for the appearance of Al-Qa'im even with one arrow because if Allah knows that one intends that sincerely, He may prolong his life that he may live untill the appearance of Al-Qa'im and then he becomes one of his assistance and supporters." Bihar al-anwar, Vol. 52 p. 366, Mu'jam Ahadith Al-Imam al-Mahdi, vol.4 p.6
  10.  "Our Shi'a are like a threshing floor having some grains. The grains are afflicted with worms. They are purified and then are afflicted with worms until very little remains that will never be harmed by the worms. So are the Shi'a. They are clarified and purified until a very few of them remain, who will never be affected by seditions. Reference: Bihar al-Anwar, Vol 52 p 116, Al-Ghayba Nu'mani, p.228
  11. Have you not heard the world of Allah that " O believers obey Allah & the Prophet s.a.w & those in authority from among you ". Has Allah ordained anything except what is stable & constant up to the day of resurrection? Do you not see that Allah made shelters for you to seek refuge & flags to guided right from the age of Adam a.s to the previous Imam (i.e Imam Hassan Askari a.s ).   When ever a flag disappeared another flag appeared. And when one star disappeared another star rose. So when Allah turned his soul back towards Himself you presumed that Allah disconnected the medium between Himself & His creations. Nay , never at all has or would this happen till the dooms day, & the order of Allah gets manifested, where as they the (infidels) dislike it. (KAMAL UDDIN VOL 2 , P-487).
  12. The past (Imam Hassan Askari) crossed over he way of his fore fathers with great prosperity & success , & disappeared from the sights. He followed the conduct of his ancestors with great exactness & similarity & led his life without any difference. His testament & knowledge. & the one who is his successor & follows the same programme & way exists among us. And nobody ever disputes his place & office with us except the cruel sinner .And the one except us who proclaims the post of Imamate And eh one except us who proclaims the post of Imamate is an infidel. And if it was not that Allah's order is not to be subdued & His secrets are not to e revealed I would have manifested to you my right in a way that your minds would have glowed & your doubts would have cast off but only that which Allah desires takes place. And there is a fixed time for everything therefore, be pious & be obedient to us. (ALBIHAR, VOL53 , P-179).
  13. And when the incidents occurs & take shape then turn to those who describe our Hadieths since they are my proof & authority over you & I am the authority of Allah upon them. (KAMAL UDDIN VOL 2 , P-484).
  14. Oh Allah bestow upon our (religious) scholars the piety in the world & admonition o others. And to the students & researchers, the struggle, search & keenness & eagerness for getting knowledge. And to the listeners the following & acceptance (of what they hear from them). And to the patients of the Muslims cure & comfort. And to our dead & deceased once the kindness & compassion . And to our old & aged once grace & peace & tranquility . And to the ladies modesty & shame . And to our wealthy ones the humility & amplitude & to our poor & have nots the patience & contentment. (AL MISBAH LIL KAFAMI, P-281).
  15. Our hearts are the utensils of the Devine will so when Allah wishes something, we too wish the same. (BIHAR UL ANWAR ,VOL 52 , P-51).
  16. So know it there is no relation & kinship between Allah & any individual. (KAMAL UDDIN VOL 2 , P-484).
  17. So know it that the right of Imamate is with us & among us , he is a blamer , liar . And nobody except us claims it but the gone astray & deviated one. (KAMAL UDDIN VOL 2 , P-511).
  18. Oh Allah, for the right of the one who supplicates to you & calls you in the oceans & lands. Peace be upon Mohammad & his household. And grant the vastness & abundance of sustenance to the poor men & women of the faithfuls. And bestow health & cure & comfort upon the patients & diseased among the faithful men & women. And mercy & magnanimity over the faithful men & women. And beneficence& benevolence , & forgiveness to their dead once. And grant to their travelers a safe & handful return to their homelands. For the sake of the right of Mohammad & all His household. (AL MISBAH LIL KAFAMI, P-306).
  19. Those who fix a time (regarding the advent of Imam) Mehdi a.s are liars. (KAMAL UDDIN VOL 2 , P-483).
  20. And the howness of benefit from me in my occultation is like the benefiting from the sun when it disappears from the eyes behind clouds. (BIHAR UL ANWAR ,VOL 78 , P-380).
  21. Oh Allah , the calamity has become great & the secret has become revealed & open & the curtains have been removed (from the works0 & the hopes have discontinued & the earth has become narrow & the sky has refused the showers of blessing & you are the helper & to you the complaint has to made. And we have got to depend upon you in hardships & easiness. (AL SAHIFA TAL MEHDIA,P-69).
  22. And indeed I am he safety & security for the people of the earth.  (BIHAR UL ANWAR ,VOL 53 , P-181).
  23. Allah does not accept for the righteousness (any thing) except completion & for the falsehood (any thing) except downfall.  (BIHAR UL ANWAR ,VOL 53 , P-193).
  24. And pray much for the quickness of deliverance for that your (own) deliverance. (KAMAL UDDIN VOL 2 , P-485).

  26. Oh Allah , if I obey You then praise & Eulogy is for You & if I disobey & commit sin then proof & authority is for You. Comfort & deliverance is from You. Glorified is the Allah who grants boon & beneficence & accepts thank giving & gratitude & Glorified is the Allah who has the power & forgives. Oh Allah if I commit a sin (disobedience) , so I obey You in some thing which is the most beloved one to You & that is faith in You . I do not believe in a son for You & I have not taken a partner for You. And this is a favor from You to me & not a favor from me to You. (MEHJUD DAWAT, P-295).
  27. And the person who eats anything from our wealth money (like khomas) indeed , he eats up fire (putting fire into his belly) & soon he will enter the hell fire. (KAMAL UDDIN VOL 2 , P-521).
  28. So every one of you must practice (in a manner) so as to get closer to our love & must take distance from thing which brings closer to our  displeasure & anger .(AL EHTEJAJ, P-498).
  29. So shut the doors of queries which are not beneficial (meaning full) for you. (BIHAR UL ANWAR ,VOL 52 , P-92).
  30. I am the Mehdi (the rightly guided one) I am the upholder & up keeper of the age. I am the one who fills it (the earth) with justice just as it is filled up with aggression & cruelty. The earth does not remain empty of the Proof & authority of Allah. (BIHAR UL ANWAR ,VOL 52 , P-2).

  134. Rest assured that no one has a special relationship with Allah. Whoever denies me is not my (follower). The appearance of the Relief (al-faraj) depends solely upon Allah; therefore, those who propose a certain time for it are liars. As to the benefit of my existence in Occultation, it is like the benefit of the sun behind clouds where the eyes do not see. Indeed, my existence is an amnesty for the people of the earth. Pray much to Allah to  hasten the Relief, for therein also lies the release from your sufferings.
  135. "Nothing shall keep us away from the (Shias) except their news to us of  those things which we dislike and do not expect from them. And Allah is the Helper.
  136. 'Then finally you plunged into the battlefield. You wielded your (sword) 'Zulfiqar', and trampled upon the army of transgressors with lightening speed. You hurtled into the clouds of dust (raised by the horses), and displayed valour, that reminded the onlookers about the velour of your father, Ali (a.s.). Your enemies when they witnessed your resolve, stead fastness and gallantry, were demoralised, and resorted to trickery and deceit, and laid traps to overcome you. With this objective, Umar b. Sa'ad, the accursed, ordered that your camp should be deprived of water, and all means of access to the river were blocked.' Then the enemies commenced the battle, and assaulted you with lances and spears from all directions. As a result of this ceaseless assault of swords and arrows, you were fatally wounded. Seeing your helplessness, you were then made the target
    of loot and' plunder.'
  137. So everyone of you must practice (in a manner) so as to get closer to our Love & must take distance from things which brings closer our displeasure and anger. And turn your intentions towards us with love based upon authentic Sunnah (traditions)"..
  138. He (SWT) says, "ALIF LAM MEEM." Do men think that they will be left alone on saying ‘We believe’ and not be tried?’ So he says, ‘How people have undergone test and trial and how do they wander around in astonishment and bewilderment sometimes to the left and sometimes to the right.
  139. They have been detached from their religion or involved in doubts (ambiguity) or have become the enemy of the right.
  140. Or they are ignorant of the true traditions and correct prophecies and information's.
  141. Or they intentionally forget what they know.
  142. Do know it that the earth never gets empty and void of authority (argument) of Allah (the Prophet or Imam) whether he is evident and apparent or hidden and concealed (from the eyes).
  143. Have you not heard the word of Allah that ‘O believers! Obey Allah and the Prophet (SAW) and those in authority from among you?"
  144. Has Allah ordained anything except what is stable and constant up to the day of resurrection?
  145. Do you not see that Allah made shelters for you to seek refuge and flags to get guided right from the age of Adam (AS) to the previous Imam e-g- Imam Hasan Askari (AS)?
  146. And when the incidents occur and take shape then turn to those who describe our hadiths since they are my proof and authority over you and I am the authority of Allah upon them.
  147. Our hearts are the utensils of the Divine will so when Allah wishes something, we too wish the same.
  148. And indeed I am the safety and security for the people of the earth.
  149. So every one of you must practice (in a manner) so as to get closer to our love and must take distance from things which brings closer to our displeasure and anger.
  150. I am the Mehdi (the rightly guided one).
  151. I am the upholder and up keeper of the age. I am the one who fills it (the earth) with justice just as it is filled up with aggression and cruelty.
  152. The earth does not remain empty of the Proof and authority of Allah.
  153. I am the remnant (the remaining of Allah’s affair) upon His earth and the avenger and vengeance taker from His enemies.
  154. An when I appear then at that time of my advent there would be no oath of allegiance taking for the devils upon my neck. (I will not sit silent rather I will fight them).
  155. We are not heedless to your life affairs and do not forget mentionings of you.
  156. Indeed we have thorough knowledge which encompasses your news (incidents and affairs of life).
  157. And nothing out of your news remains hidden from us.
  158. Nothing like Salat rubs the nose of Satan upon dust so perform the Salat and rub the nose of Satan upon dust.
  159. O Allah! Bestow upon our religious scholars the piety in the world and admonition to others.
  160. And to the students and researchers, the struggle, search and keenness and eagerness for getting knowledge.
  161. And to the listeners the following and acceptance (of what they hear from them).
  162. And to the patients of the Muslims cure and comfort.
  163. And to our dead and deceased ones, the kindness and compassion.
  164. And to our youth, reference and conversion and repentance.
  165. And to the ladies modesty and shame.
  166. And to our wealthy ones the humility and amplitude.
  167. And to our poor and have-nots the patience and contentment.
  168. And the person who eats anything from our wealth (khums) indeed he eats up fire (putting fire into his belly) and soon he will enter the hellfire.
  169. We do not accept your wealth except for the sake of purifying those.

  206. "And do not put yourself into (unnecessary) trouble in gaining knowledge in which you have sufficed yourself".
  207. "Surely the truth is with us and in us and non can say like this except us. And if any one says then he is a liar a deceiver. None claims thus other than us except a strayed and lost one.
  208. "Our hearts are the vessels of Allah’s intentions". Then whenever He is pleased, We are pleased".
  209. "If our Shias (May Allah give them opportunity of obedience) would be firm on their promises wholeheartedly, our meeting would not be delayed".
  210. 'You were foremost in the battlefield, and embraced the difficulties and afflictions with amazing courage, which perplexed even the angels of the celestial world.'
  211. Before the rising of Sufyani and before the hearing of the voice from the sky, anyone who claims that he can meet me (at will) is a liar and a malicious person. (There is no special representative in Ghaibat-e-Kubra)
  212. 'Then the raiders surrounded you from all sides. They continued to inflict wounds upon your already wounded body, not giving you time even to breathe. And very soon you were all alone, without any aide and ally. You in your solitude witnessed everything, with steadfastness and fortitude. You remained preoccupied in shielding your women and children from the attacks of the raiders. Till the time, the enemies brought you down from your mount, onto the earth.'
  213. 'You fell upon the earth while your body was disfigured with wounds. Then the enemies charged you from all sides, and trampled you with the hooves of their horses."
  214. 'Then the perspiration of death appeared on your forehead, and your hands and feet folded and unfolded to the right and left. You glanced helplessly for the last time at your tents, children and women. And your loyal mount galloped towards your camp, weeping and lamenting.'
  215. 'When the ladies of your house saw your horse, without its rider, with its saddle hanging, they became restless and came out of the tents. Their hair was tousled, while they slapped their faces, and wailed and lamented. They were calling out the names of their ancestors out of sheer helplessness, and rushed to the spot of (Imam Husain's (a.s.)) martyrdom.'
  216. 'Then Shimr, the accursed, straddled your chest and began running his sword across your neck. He dasped your pure hair, with his (impure) hands and was slaughtering you with his sharp Indian sword. To the extent that you became motionless and stopped breathing, and your head was triumphantly raised on the lance.'
  217. Regarding the detention of the Ahle Bayt (a.s.) Imam Mahdi (a.tf.s.) relates:
'And your women were apprehended like slaves, chained in heavy, iron fetters, and were made to mount camels without saddles. The sultry heat of the desert had transformed the colour of their faces, while they were taken around in the desert and jungles. Their hands were bound to their necks, and in this condition, they were paraded through markets and streets.'
  218. "Woe be upon the disobedient transgressors, who in fact killed Islam by killing you."
  219. Imam Mahdi (a.tf.s.) recites:
'Salutations upon you, and upon your martyred sons.
Salutations upon you, and upon your progeny, who aided you under most difficult circumstances.
Salutations upon you, and upon the angels in the vicinity of your shrine.
Salutations upon your brother (Imam Hasan), who was poisoned.
    Salutations upon Ali Akbar.
Salutations upon the infant (Ali Asgar).
Salutations upon the delicate bodies, that were left without clothes.
Salutations upon your family, who were paraded from one place to another.
Salutations upon those corpses, that were scattered over the plains of the desert.
Salutations upon the ones who were forcefully evicted from their native place.
Salutations upon those who were buried without shrouds.
Salutations upon those heads that were severed from the bodies.'
  220. O Allah! Make us share these moments of sorrow and anguish of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.). And when Imam (a.t.f.s.) reappears, include us among his companions, so that we can avenge the atrocities that were heaped on Imam Husain (a.s.), alongside Imam (a.t.f.s.).
Imam's (a.t.f.s.) salutations upon those who visit Imam Husain's (a.s.) mausoleum
    Imam (a.t.f.s.) narrates:
"Salutations upon those who stand below your dome, upon those who faithfully hover over your earth, upon those who circumambulate (tawaaf) your pure tomb, and upon the angels who frequent your-shrine."
  222. The appearance of the relief (Al-Faraj) depends solely
upon Allah, therefore those who propose a certain time for it, are liars.
  223. As to the benefit of my existence in occultation, it is like the benefit of the sun
behind clouds where the eyes do not see.
  224. One of the reasons is that the Shias are perpetrating those actions which the people of the past avoided. These Shias have forgotten the covenant of Allah and have violated it.
  225. "And had our guardianship and protection not been there, then calamities would have surrounded you from all sides and destroyed you.
  226. Piety and abstinence. I pledge for the salvation of the one who does not desire any rank or position in any acts of evil and corruption,
  227. The believer who possesses the fear of Allah and is prompt in returning the people their dues, will be secure from the evils of the time. And the one who acts miserly in disseminating the bounties of Allah to the people, will be from among the losers on the Day of Judgment.
  228.  Perform those actions which bring you closer to our love and affection and refrain from all those actions that become the cause of our displeasure and dissatisfaction.
  229. If our Shias (may Allah grant them the taufeeq of obedience) had been united in fulfilling the pledge, then certainly there would have been no delay in our meeting and they would have been graced with this opportunity several times. However, their actions are most unbecoming of Shias, and have kept them away from us.
  230. Indeed my existence is an amnesty for the people of the earth.
  231. Pray much to Allah to hasten the relief, therefore in it also lies the release from your sufferings.
  232. 91 hadith on: "The Imams are twelve in number, among whom the first is 'Ali b. Abi Talib and the last is the Mahdi."
  233. Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) deliberates on Imam Husain's (a.s.) excellent traits in Ziarate Nahiyya thus, "O master! You were most careful about your duties and responsibilities, possessed outstanding virtues, were matchless in generosity and nobility, always performed 'Namaze Shab''in the darkness of nights. The ways you adopted were firm and resolute, while you were the most exalted of Allah's creatures in virtues and magnificence, and were without parallel in genealogy. You possessed an august station, boundless merits, were a model for others to emulate, dignified, magnanimous, most knowledgeable and discerning. You possessed brilliance and radiance, recognized Allah, were a beacon of guidance, fearful (of Allah), sympathetic and compassionate towards His creatures, loved Allah and submitted to His decrees quickly, without protest.'
  234. 94 hadith on: "The Imams are twelve, and the last one is the Mahdi."
  235. Reciting namaz on the dot of time at its very outset (Awwal-e-Waqt) is a cause of disgrace for Shaitan.
  236. We announce our disapproval of them and we distance ourselves from such people and also from their followers. We also send our curse on them.
  237. If the thing has been handed over to us then the person has no right over it - whether he needs that thing or not.
  238.  Before our reappearance, the hearts of the people will become hard and the world will be full of injustice and inequality.
  239. Allah does not have any exclusive relation with anyone (i.e. no one is special in front of Allah). If someone denies our Imamat then he is not from us. His example is like the example of Hazrat Noah (a.s.)'s son.
  240. (The time of my) reappearance is in the hands of Allah. And anyone who claims otherwise is a liar.
  241. You must refer (your questions) to the narrators of our traditions. We have appointed them as our proof (Hujj at) upon you.
  242. 107 hadith on: "The Imams are twelve, nine among whom are the descendants of Husayn, and the ninth is the Qa'im."
  243. You possessed brilliance and radiance, recognised Allah, were a beacon of guidance, fearful (of Allah), sympathetic and compassionate towards His creatures, loved Allah and submitted to His decrees quickly, without protest.'
    '
You, are the Prophet's (s.a.w.a.) son, protector of Quran, helper and aide of Islam, most eager in obeying Allah's commands and upholder of covenants and pledges. You remained aloof from transgressors, readily endeavoured in Allah's ways, with your heart and soul, so as to realise His aim, and remained engrossed in 'Ruku' and prostration for long duration.'
'Master, you renounced this world, and looked at it with the indifference of one who was all set to leave it, and as one fearful of it. Your hopes and aspirations were affixed beyond the world. Your endeavours and zeal remained unaffected by the distractions of the world. You never cast even a fleeting glance, at its pomp and splendor, and were always attached only with the Hereafter."
  244. 389 hadith on: "Mahdi is from among the progeny of the Prophet."
  245. Goodness will be at that time when Mahdi emerges and will destroy such cruelties and oppressions.
  246. To use someone's belongings without his permission is prohibited. Hence the one who considers our money as permissible and usurps, has actually filling his stomach with fire and will surely be thrown in Hell.
  247. If the person is not from the children of idol worshippers or fire worshippers then he can recite namaz
  248. 214 hadith on: "Mahdi is from among the descendants of 'Ali."
  249. One who does not recite the chapter of Qadr (surahe "Inna anzalna") in his namaz then his namaz is not accepted. And the one who does not recite the chapter of Tauheed (surahe Qulho wallah) in his namaz, then his namaz is not pure.
  250. There can be no disputing that he will get the reward which is mentioned in the traditions (for reciting surahe "Homazah"). But if a person forsakes any surah and recites surahe Qadr and surahe Tauheed, then not only will he get the reward of reciting these two surahs but will also get the reward of the surah which he has left (in order to recite these two surahs). Of course he can recite any other surah that he wishes, but then he will have abandoned something that carries a lot of reward.
  251. 192 hadith on: "Mahdi is from among the descendants of Fatima."
  252. If the person has some other source of livelihood also, then it is not prohibited to eat and drink or do business with him. But if he has no other source of livelihood save his illegal income, then it is prohibited to interact with such a person.
  253. 185 hadith on: "Mahdi is from among the descendants of Husayn."
  254. Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) presents himself in Imam Husain's (a.s.) service, and sends his salutations upon him as if he is the attendant, while the latter is his master. Imam (a.t.f.s.) exclaims, "Omaster, accept my salutations. I present my salutations to you with expectations of success and prosperity. O master, accept salutations of the one who has approached you after having recognised your honour and distinction, has acknowledged your guardianship (wilayat) with sincerity, aspires to gain proximity with Allah through your love, and dissociates himself from your enemies. Accept salutations of your distressed devotee, whose heart is wrenched due to the grief and tribulations that you were made to undergo, and who sheds tears of blood in sympathy for you.'
O master, accept salutations of the one who is distressed and restless, from your grief and suffering. Master, acknowledge salutations of the one, who, if he was present in Karbala, would have confronted swords and lances, and laid down his life so as to safeguard yours. He would have struggled in your path with intense fervour, and would have wrestled with death to help your cause. He would have displayed his courage, gallantry and grit in combat. He would have aided you in confronting the rebels, willingly, and in the process would have sacrificed his heart and soul, wealth, family and children, everything, in your way."
  255. Do not inquire about those things that will not benefit you. And don't ask questions about matters that are not your responsibility.
  256. 148 hadith on: "Mahdi is the nineth descendant of Husayn."
  257. We accept your wealth only with this intention that you should be purified. Otherwise, whatever Allah has bestowed on us is far superior than what He has given you.

  259. Allah has protected them from all kinds of sins and purified them from all kinds of defects and has made them clean from all sorts of vices. He has appointed them as the treasurers of His knowledge and the custodians of His wisdom. He has made them the focal point of His secrets and has strengthened them with proofs. And knowledge would not be distinct from ignorance.
  260. The "Sajdah-e-Shukr" is among the highly recommended acts and is very much emphasised. 265. I and all my ancestors, right from Adam (a.s.) till Mohammad Mustafa (s.a.w.s) are the servants of Allah. Actually, we are aggrieved by those Shias who are ignorant and whose faith is not even equal to the wing of a mosquito. We detach ourselves from all those people who associate us with Allah,
  266. The one who struggles and strives too much for searching me will (in fact) direct the enemies towards me. And the one who guides the enemies towards me has endangered my life. And the one who puts my life in danger is a polytheist.
  267. Allah mentions in the Quran

    Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) reflects,
'The time finally arrived when tyranny reared its ugly head and despotism casts its dark shadow.'
'Oppression summoned its cronies, and marched forth to wage battle against you. At that time, you had taken asylum in your grandfather's shrine, remained aloof from the tyrants and despots, confined yourself to the niche of the mosque and had forsaken all inordinate desires and craving. You forcefully renounced the evils in society with all your faculties, and prohibited the people from adopting corrupt and depraved ways. Then through your discerning knowledge, you declined from paying the allegiance that was sought from you, and instead resolved to confront the forces of transgression and corruption.'
'Then you set forth with your family, children, Shias, lovers and adherents and clearly distinguished the truth from falsehood with explicit arguments and proofs. You invited the people with wisdom and excellent exhortations. You exhorted the people towards obedience of Allah's commands, and restrained the people from giving into their corrupt and debase tendencies. But the people resolved to confront you with tyranny and oppression. But you continued to warn them about Allah's wrath, and exhausted all arguments, and (when everything failed) you finally decided to wage 'jehad' against them. The people abandoned the allegiance that they had paid to you, violated the covenant that they had made with you, and insisted in waging battle with you, and in the process displeased your Lord and your respected grandfather."

  301. 'I was a youth amongst the craftsmen of Damascus. on fridays, we used to occupy ourselves in playing, drinking and gambling. it was on one of those fridays that i received some sort of an inspiration from Allah that: have you been created for such deeds? therefore, i gave up my usual activities and fled away from my companions. they pursued me but could not find me. i entered the mosque of bani-umayyah and saw a person on the pulpit who was speaking about Hazrat Mahdi. by this, i became eager in meeting Mahdi. there was not a single prostration which i used to perform and not ask Allah to fulfill my wish for meeting him. in one of the nights, while being engaged in the recommended prayers, i saw all of a sudden someone sitting behind me. he rubbed his hands over my back and said: 'O my son, the compassionate Allah has granted your wish. i am Mahdi, what do you want.'

I said: 'will you come with me to my house?'

he replied: 'yes'. then we went together and on the way He said: 'take me to some lonely place.' i took him to a lonely place and He stayed there with me for seven days.
  302. first: there lived a man named ismail-ibn-hassan between the two cities of hilla and furat. my brothers narrate from ismail that there appeared a boil on his left thigh which was the size of the palm of ones hand. doctors who looked at his boil expressed their inability in curing it. thereafter, ismail left for samerra and visited the graves of Imam Ali Hadi and Imam Hassan Askari (may Allah be satisfied with them). later he entered sardab. there he beseeched the compassionate allah and seeked help from mahdi.

then, he entered the tigris river, took the ritual wash and changed his clothes. suddenly he saw four riders coming from the direction of the city of samerra. one of them was an old man holding a spear in his hand while the other was a youth wearing colourful clothes. the one holding the spear was coming from the right flank while the other two were coming from the left flank. the youth who had put on colourful clothes was coming from the centre. this youth asked ismail as such: «will you go tomorrow to your family?' ismail replied: «yes'. he said: «come close to me so that i can learn about your problem.' ismail went close to him. he bent down and pressed his thigh with his blessed hand and then sat back on his saddle. the old man who was holding a spear in his hand said: you have been cured. he is your imam.

the four riders left and ismail too followed them. imam said: «return back'. ismail replied: 'i shall never separate from you'. Imam said: 'it is for your own good that you go back'. ismail replied: 'i shall not part from you under any circumstances.' the old man interrupted us and said: 'have you no shame! your Imam has twice commanded you to go back and yet you are disobeying!?' ismail stopped. after Imam went forward a few steps, he turned back towards ismail and said: 'when you will reach baghdad, the caliph mustansi billah will forcibly summon you. when he shall offer you something, you refuse to accept it. also tell our son razi'uddin to write on your behalf to ali-ibn-awaz. i will too beckon him to give you whatever you wish.'after this hazrat left with his companions and ismail's eyes lay fixed at them until he could see them no more. he sat on the ground for some time and started to weep because of his separation from them.

he then went to samerra where the people surrounded him and said: why do we see you so much changed? what has happened?? ismail said: do you know who were these riders who had left the city and had gone towards the river? they said: they were from the nobles and are the owners of cattles. ismail said: they were imam and his companions. the one who had put on colourful clothes was imam and it was he who rubbed his blessed hand over my wound spot. they said: allow us to see for ourselves.' when ismail displayed his thigh to them there was not even a scar left to be seen. people started tearing his clothes to get lucky charm and then took him to the treasure house so that others could not reach him. later, the caliph's representative came and inquired about this incident and asked his name, his background, his native place and the purpose his exit from baghdad in the first week.

the next morning after reciting his prayers ismail left the city of samerra before a huge crowd. on the way he reached one spot where people had gathered in great number and were inquiring about his name, geneology and the place from where he came. when they saw and recognized him by the afore-said signs, they began to tear his clothes and took them away as blessings. the caliph's representative wrote a detailed report on this incident and dispatched it to baghded. the minister called in sayed raziuddin to inquire from him the authenticity of this incident. when raziuddin (who was one of ismail's companion and had been ismail's host before leaving for samerra) and some others saw ismail they descended down. when ismail showed his thigh to them and they could not see any trace of the wound, raziuddin remained fainted for almost an hour. after gaining consciousness, he caught hold of ismail's hand and took him to the minister. raziuddin cried and said: he is my brother and the most beloved of all men.
the minister inquired from ismail about that particular incident and he in turn described it in length. the minister ordered the doctors who had previously seen ismail's thigh to come forward. when they arrived he asked: when did you last see his wound? they replied: ten days before. the minister displayed ismail's thigh and when the doctors saw no trace of it, they said: this is the act of messiah. the minister said: we know who has performed this act.

the minister took ismail before the caliph. the caliph asked ismail to give account and ismail explained in detail all what had occurred for him. when the caliph presented ismail with a sum of one thousand dinars, the latter said: 'how dare i take even a little of this offer.' the caliph said: 'whom do you fear?!' he said: 'from the one who cured me because he has forbidden me from accepting anything from you'. on hearing this, the caliph began to cry.

ali-ibn-isa says: i was once narrating this incident to a group of people who were around me. shamsuddin, who was ismail's son was also present but i had then not recognized him.

shamsuddin said: 'i am ismail's son'.

i said: had you seen the wound on your father's thigh?

he replied: at that time, i was only a child. however i had heard this matter from my parents, relatives and neighbours and saw the place of wound after it had been cured. i could not find any trace of the wound and hair had grown on that spot.'

ali-ibn-isa further says: i inquired about this incident from sayed safi'uddin muhammad-ibn-muhammad and najm'uddin haider-ibn-amir too and they informed me of this incident and said: 'we had seen ismail before and after his recovery'.

moreover his son related to me that his father after his recovery, went to samerra for forty times so that he would perhaps get the honour of visiting him once again.

  303. Second: Sayed Baaqi Athwah Alawi Aasani related to me that his father athwah did not acknowledge the existence of Mahdi. he would often say: 'whenever Mahdi comes and cures me, I will confirm the people's saying' (about Mahdi). when we had all gathered for the 'isha' (night) prayers, we heard a shriek from our father. we went close to him and he said: 'imam passed from here at this very moment. look out for him.' we went in search for him but could not find anyone. we returned back and then our father said: someone approached me and said: 'O Athwah! I replied: 'at thy service'. he said: 'I am Mahdi. I have come to cure you'. he stretched out his hand, pressed my thing and then left.

narrator says: after this incident, he used to run like a deer and there was not a trace left.

Ali-ibn-isa says: i in this incident from sayed Baaqi's son and he too admitted it.

Ibrahim b. Muhammad relates: Once because of fear of the governor I decided to escape from Samarra. I came to Imam Hasan 'Askari's house in order to bid him farewell. I saw a beautiful child next to him. I asked him: "O son of the Prophet, who is this child?" The Imam replied: "He is my son and successor.

On Duties of Muslims in the Era of Occultation
All of you should try to befriend us and keep away from things disliked and rejected by us, for our order will come without notice when there is no time for repentance and regret will not save you from our retribution.

On the Reason for His Delayed Reappearance
If my Shiite followers--may god reward them for their obedience--were to unite to fulfill their pledge, our meeting with them would not have been delayed and they would have met me sooner--a meeting based on their awareness and sincerity toward us.

    On the Virtues of Prayers
Nothing disgraces Satan like prayers, so pray and disgrace Satan.
The recognition of the real divine proof is gained.
    2)         Such congregations are by themselves, worship of Allah. This fact has been testified by none other than the great Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.a.) himself when he (s.a.w.a.) declared,
"Remembrance of Ali (a.s.) is worship."
    (Jaame' al-Sagheer, p. 16; Kunooz al-Haqaaeq, p. 120; Khair al-Bareeyyah, p. 51).

Today, Imam Mahdi (a.s.) enjoys the same divine position and status that Ameerul Momineen (a.s.) enjoyed during his time. Thus, the remembrance of the former too is divine worship.

    3)         The love for their Imam (a.s.) will increase in the hearts of the people when their knowledge about him (a.s.) will be augmented. When they realize that the world exists because of him (a.s.), and that they themselves exist due to his existence. This dawn of this reality on the people will itself make people proximate to their Imam (a.s.) and their love, affection and respect for him (a.s.) will increase manifold.

    4)         The very mention of this holy persona will make the people near to goodness and piety.

    5)         The aim of the Holy Prophet's (s.a.w.a.) messengership is this very act. He (s.a.w.a.) declares,
"I have been raised so that I may complete the nobility of morality."

    6)         People will be trained for the obedience of Imam (a.s.). The efforts of such gatherings to prevent the occurrence of situations that led to the battles of Jamal and Siffeen. The attention of the people will be particularly drawn to the fact that Imam-e-Zaman (a.s.) should not face that situation which Imam Hasan al-Mujtaba (a.s.) had to encounter.

    7)         As Imam-e-Zaman (a.s.) is Allah's sign, people attending such congregations will learn to respect the signs of the Almighty.

    8)         Through such gatherings, people will get the taufeeq (grace) to pray for the early reappearance of Imam-e-Zaman (a.s.), a desire explicitly expressed by the Imam (a.s.) himself,
"And pray more for (my) early reappearance, for in it only is your salvation."
    (Muntakhabul Asar, pg. 348)

    9)         The possibility of an early reappearance will increase just as Allah had brought early respite for the Bani Israel from the clutches of the oppressive Firaon, due to their excessive pleadings and supplications.

    10)        People will always be attentive towards the fact that they should be ready to sacrifice all that they have of their lives and their wealth for the sake of their Imam (a.s.) at any given time.
    11)        Through Imam (a.s.), people will gain the recognition of Allah, which is the main aim behind creation.

    12)        Such gatherings will lead to the recognition of the Imam (a.s.) by its participants. Therefore, even if they die before the reappearance, their death will not be one of ignorance, as announced by the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.),
"One who dies without recognizing the Imam of his time, has died the death of ignorance."
(Behaarul Anwaar, vol. 51, pg. 38)

Apart from enlivening Islam, such gatherings and meetings are also beneficial for the believers. Following are some of the benefits for the participants:
    1)         There is a tradition the gist of which is as follows: Certainly a scholar who teaches people religion and invites them towards their Imam, is better and superior than seventy thousand worshippers.
    (Mikyaal al-Makaarim, vol. 2, pg. 389)

    2)         Imam Sadiq (a.s.) says,
"One who recites even one eulogy in the praise of his Imam in such gatherings, Allah will construct one house for him in paradise."
    (Wasaael al-Shiah, vol. 1, pg. 467; Mikyaal al-Makaarem, vol. 2, pg. 243)

In another tradition Imam Sadeq (a.s.) says,
"None recites a poem in our glorification but that he is praised and glorified by the mighty angel Rooh al-Qodos himself."

    3)         As such gatherings are a medium for the preparation of the reappearance of Imam-e-Zaman (a.s.), Imam Sadiq (a.s.) says,
"It is necessary that each one of you should prepare for the reappearance of his Imam (a.s.) even if it is with one arrow. If one even intends for the same, Allah increases his age."
    (Mikyaal al-Makaarem, vol. 2, pg. 583)
